I loved my stay, especially the cozy balcony with amazing views! Air conditioning was perfect too. The furnishings were quite dated though, but it didn't ruin my experience. I'd definitely return!

I booked the Hotel Cosmos based on the price and its close proximity to the Athens subway system. The rooms were clean. This is certainly a no frills place and would be a good place for backpackers and people traveling without children who are looking to save some money. It is just four metro stops from the Acropolis.
The neighborhood is a bit seedy. We were traveling in a large van and weren't able to find off street parking. The sidewalks in the neighborhood have a strong smell of urine and we saw several people digging through the garbage dumpsters. Our first morning out of the hotel there were two junkies shooting up next to our van. On our second and last night we heard a loud crash followed by police sirens just after settling in for the night. I sprinted outside to check on our van and fortunately all was fine. I would only use this hotel if I was arriving by bus with a tour group or traveling without children and without a car. We were only using the hotel as a place to stay at night while we toured the Acropolis, Sounion, and Corinth. In the future I will try to avoid Athens and try to stay somewhere on the way to Sounion or in the Corinth area.

Updated and functional room for what we needed with balcony and a cupboard, as example. Stayed for 2 nights, the staff was very nice helpful and attentive during all this time.

The best and worst parts
The location offers easy access to unique eateries and the metro, making explorations convenient and enjoyable,, and the staff is quite helpful, readily offering recommendations for an authentic Athens experience.
Despite the fair pricing, the neighborhood can feel unsettling at times due to visible social issues, and the hotel shows signs of needing a bit of refurbishment and soundproofing.

Good value of money and location too.
Some of the staff members were not friendly

The staff was really helpful every time we asked them, the room was relatively good according to its price with enough open space, and it was really cheap.
Unfortunately the hotel is located in the "scary" area of Athens, so it wasn't comfortable to arrive there every night in a hurry, and I think the rooms could be cleaner.

clean basic room, excellent location near metro, fridge in room
Unpleasant cigarette odor!!! Shower setup with old plastic curtain is outdated. Toilet paper disposal restrictions are awkward. Bathroom fixtures seem strangely low. Lots of potential for aesthetic upgrades!!!

Do not stay here. Front desk was very rude. Power cut out at least 3 times. Wifi kept dropping out. No shower curtain so the entire bathroom flooded everytime we took a shower. The neighbourhood was pretty dodgy. Walls were paper thin and we were woke up several times during the night.

For the money that we paid, it served its purposes - it was simple and clean. The air conditioned was also working very good
We didn't like the neighborhood - after 8 o'clock it was dangerous to go walking around the hotel. At the shower they did not have any curtains.

decent conditions, satisfactory, ok accommodation for 1-2 nights of sleeping
surrounding neighbourhood - although it's well situated, the neighbourhood is shady, but it didn't affect us, we didn't have any problems

Some reception staff members were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated in a better area than some of the others and one didn't have to walk through the dirt and shady characters to get to the hotel entrance. Relaxing reception area.
While some reception staff members were very helpful and friendly others seriously lack people skills and don't belong at the reception desk. It was like invading their space or time when collecting or dropping off the keys. Just wanted to get out of their sight as soon as possible. Personally I don't think anybody ever checks up on the cleaning staff. Rooms were not cleaned properly - dust bunnies under beds and dusty furniture - not good for residents with sinus problems.
